My personal experance in boxing is limmited to a few spaeing sessions, but they were enough to make me understand that in boxing you need to be mentaly sharp as well as physcicaly fit.
Dose anyone do anything to help themselves out with improving mental sharpness? |

Mental toughness comes down to how much you want something. In boxing you need to really want to win every fight, and losing isn't an option. You must always be in a positive frame of mind. If you want to be sharp and alert that comes from lifestyle factors; eating, sleeping etc.

Apart from the above points, it goes a bit deeper.
You really have to know, that it's you or him. The first rule in boxing, is protect yourself at all times. Don't think for a moment that if you get tired or have enough your opponent will feel sorry for you, he'll more likely beat you to shit. So, my pedigree chum, kill or be killed! The man who accepts the dangers of what he does will more likely excel at it than the man who doesn't. Also, read books. Do some iq tests, keep your brain ticking over. |

That is exatly right. A man who is hungry tends to be more alert than a man who is satiated. |

I was thinking about how to keep your concertration focused during a fight so you can act and react, and not get cought with a punch you didn't see comeing or not miss your opertonity to land a shot that would catch your opoent off gaurd.

I think for a great part mental sharpness comes with the physical training.
When you do your runs think about the upcoming fight and think about how to improve your weak spots. Telling yourself how bad you want to win. Or when you are punching the heavybag, image how your fight will go and who to react. Futhermore is important to sleep well, rest alot and a good eatingpatron. |
