Asked Mike on friday night if he was making a comeback, he said "Yes mate, no doubt" . So we have Gomez, Brodie and Harrison all making further comebacks. now, granted none of these guys are going to make waves on the world scene, but they could provide a much needed injection into the domestic scene. Harrison Vs the winner of Mitchell Johanneson, or even (somewhere down the line) Harrison Arthur woud be mouth watering contests, even taking into account the "past its sell by date" nature of the fighter.
I can only assume Mike will be fighting at 126, Brodie vs Simpson, Hunter or even Mathews could be feasible at some point. |

Agreed, although I'd give my right arm to be british champ... probably lose my first defence, being one armed and all, but you get my drift.
Anymore for anymore on the comeback front? Think we're all agreed Naz wont ever grace a ring again. Johnny Nelson is finished. Lewis has always maintained he's done. |

Wayne McCullough is on the comeback trail.
He will have his first fight in 2 years when he faces Kiko Martinez in Ireland on December 1st. Will be on a Dennis Hobson bill and televised by Setanta. |

Did Wayne ever retire, or has he been inactive? How many fights has he had since the turn of this century, and how many have been title fights? Something like 5 (or 6) fights, 4 (or 5) title fights I'd guess.

McCullough's record suggests he has been semi retired - only had 7 fights (including 3 Title fights I think) since the millennium!
His last 3 fights have been over in the States (has lived in Las Vegas for years) and he lost the last 2 of those. |

I don't really know what McCullough's motivation is for boxing again - he is in his mid thirties, does a column for Sky Sports, has his gym and a good lifestyle in Vegas. He probably could have done with a warm up fight before facing Martinez who is a top fighter and dispensed with Dunne in the first round - lets hope this lasts longer or it could be a very short comeback indeed. |
