Default How to win friends by James DeGale

"I don't want to be famous just very, very rich and get all the accolades. It sounds big headed but I can't see myself losing until, maybe, the big, big fights in Vegas."

Mmmmmmm.

With that remark he's seems to already have accepted that he'll never really be an elite fighter; sounds like he's preparing for 20 or so defences of a WBO title, earning comfortably fighting second tier opposition (for the most part), before having a couple of fights in Vegas at the very end.
If it all goes to plan of course.

Come on, do I have to?

Oh well...

DeGale isn't the most well liked fighter in the country and coming out with arrogant shite like this isn't going to win him any friends.

Why? He can't be that thick. And his promoter/manager surely must have had words about marketing himself properly?

What is he supposed to say, that I want to be poor, and expect to lose very soon, in Bethnal green?
