Even at the time of the Siaca fight, Larsen was not better imo than his much younger (then) stable-mate. Today the difference would be sky-high. I'm not so sure Kessler would exactly murder Larsen within 4. Unfortunately i think it could turn into a very boring fight, where Kessler is satisfied taking home a very clear points win and Larsen would be satisfied just going the distance. i think Larsen, after a few more fights) probably belongs in top-10. But top-5 is a stretch and top 3 unthinkable unless theres a mass exodus among the top fighters. |

Why? Because his opponent scored a flash knowdown against Larsen? Larsen has shown some fairly decent performances since he took up his gloves against after his long absence from the pro game. Yesterday he outpointed an undefeated Italian based fighter from the Domicania Republic who turned out to be tougher than expected before. Larsen did what he had to do. Larsen isnt done, not yet. He can still make the water very hot for some of the top 10 fighters at supermiddle. Calzaghe and Kessler are probably out of his reach and league, but there is other fish in the pond . |

it is rumored that there is a danish 168 fighter that has not spent 6 months in a tattoo parlour, but at this stage it is only a rumor. |

Larsen has been hit more in his comeback fights than in his entire career. He will never reach Top 10. When a guy like Cayetano can flatten him, so many others like their chances. Larsen was cleverly matched earlier, he can only fight slow tactical bouts, he'll fail against decent, ambitious punchers

This fight makes sense because Kessler will be losing come Saturday and he needs a winnable but meaningful fight to come back with.
Against Larsen in Denmark would surely be huge. If by some miracle Kessler beat Joe, Larsen is the last guy he will be looking at, he would have much larger fish to fry. |
