Default Taylor: One Step below Great

Taylor is a good fighter with a respectable career. But he was build by his handlers to be great, something he never was. Is it possible that the discrepancy between this created image and his level of talent actually hinders him in his development? He was a good amateur, got the bronze in the Olympics. But he didn't win the gold medal. He won the title against Hopkins, but not convincingly. He defended the title against awkward opponents, which is respectable, but he did not show greatness in any of his defences. If he could acknowledge where he truly stands as a fighter, perhaps he could be happy with being a good middleweight or supermiddleweigth, perhaps winning a title again at some point but without the pressure of trying to be great.
