Perhaps I should have said Echols gave him a shred of false self-belief back. |

' he was mentally disadvantaged in that fight because of being robbed badly in the first fight.he was reluctant to engage fearing a headclash and another DQ'
C'mon Stiff mate I've heard some excuses for losing but being mentally disadvataged for his piss poor performance doesn't cut it. Beyer just took Green serious for the rematch & boxed his ears off.........showed in the process how mechanical Green is........just a 1-2 man. Kessler than showed how piss poor Green was by blowing Beyer out in 3 rds next fight. |

his record is ok, but shows little more than a journeyman. His best win by far is against lucas.

Unbelievable, Fair dinkum.
Did you blokes follow Greens rise through the ranks? He was a very good amateur, which makes the transition to pro ranks harder than if you were an ordinary one. He stopped all of his 16 opponents before he met 27-1 Beyer. Because he never knocked Beyer out in the 2nd fight, a lot of his fans jumped ship. If Green could be critisized for anything, it was allowing himself to be dragged into the Mundine circus. That was the worst decision of his career, tho business wise, it made him better money. What Danny done up until Beyer is what Rocky Katsidis is doing now. There's a lot of simple logic to how a fighter progresses & it's more often than not beyond his control. A big punching middleweight that loses an MD in Germany against a German is a dangerous opponent, & managers don't take them unless it's a local derby or a major foreign hero big money fight. Green was not wanted. You don't have to like the bloke but Oz is not even knee deep in his class of fighter. |
