Who can deal with Pacquiao's speed? He's as hyper as a kid on their sugar rush. I do agree MAB wasn't in his physical prime.

Yes he was prime. Barrera was coming off wins over Tapia, Kelly, Morales and Hamed, how the HELL can anyone not consider that prime unless you're a bastard cabdriver that doesn't want to give Pac credit?
Barrera was in his prime and got beat badly by someone better. |

I think he was a bit past his PHYSICAL prime but OVERALL the level he was operating at when he faced PAC was when he was at his best. With regards to his experience and the level he was operating on being a little past his prime was less of an issue than him really coming into his own with a style MAB evolved to after the Naz fight. Manny's best win in my opinion simply b/c of where MANNY was as a fighter when he dominated Marco. He wasn't the Manny we see before us today that's for sure. I lost A GRIP on the fight!

Im gonna have to say that Barrera was at his best, maybe not his absolute peak but pretty close. Unprepared maybe, but i wouldn't say he was past it. Only the fighter of the decade could have beat a prime barrera like that, no shame in that at all...Pacmans greatest win, no doubt.

He may have been nearing the end of his prime, but he was no doubt still in it. He was 29, comming off great wins, and was universally recognized as the featherweight champ and legit P4P top 5. That win for Pacquaio, and the way he won, was without question one of the greatest accomplishments in all of boxing in the past 10 years.

Of course he was. He got beat by Pac but beat Morales after. And only defeat after Pac was a competitive match with peak JMM 3 YEARS AFTER the Pac fight.
It is not even a discussion here. |
