Wow, he was that old?
Sad, I always had a soft spot for Foster and felt he was a under appreciated fighter of the 70's, never mentioned among the Quarries, Mathis' or Chuvalo's regardless of accomplishing or being as good as them. |

Yeah, nobody remembers poor Mac. He deserves it though, I do believe that Quarry was better then him, however. Respectively, Quarry ranks up there with the 70s greats. I do believe Foster might give a fight to the "champions" today, he's gotta be better then a shot Tua, Haye, Sowonoski, Chris "Fat", Arreloa, and 48 year old Evander Holyfield... I'm gonna go watch some Mac Foster now. |

Foster was very heavily hyped on the way up, and put together some impressive KO numbers. His fight with Quarry was intended as his "breakout" win, but Quarry defied the script and turned the tables on him. Foster's career never really recovered from that, even though he did blast out Zora Folley after that.

I'm not sure if he's under appreciated but he could hit like a truck. Just ask Quarry. |

Such a shame Joe Frazier never fought this guy. What a chin checker this guy was! All wins by knockout! He even knocked liston out cold in sparring once.
RIP Mac |

Sad RIP mac. This bit from that article was great mind haha
"Quarry echoed that sentiment some time after he beat Mr. Foster. They were in a restaurant outside Palm Springs after a training session together. "Mac shouts, 'Jerry, I want a rematch.' " Clyde Foster said. "Jerry pauses for a long time, takes out his front teeth and yells back, 'I want the world to know, they don't make enough money to fight you again. I've never been hit that hard in my entire life.' " |
