Default Re: Watch Wlad before Stewart got hold on him...

Vlad still has the tools but is a lot more cautious because of stamina problem, the experience of not knowing how to tie up an opponent and the correct use of the jab and movement. My feeling is we have not seen the best of him yet. Stewart is a good trainer for him because he helped him overcome a lot of the anxiety of getting tired. Big men have always had that trouble but Stewart helped Lewis overcome and he seems to be a good fit for Vlad. The American public likes Black heavyweights they want another Ali or Tyson. The only white heavy that got some serious attention was Cooney and his management knew they better cash in before he lost his unbeaten record.

While Stewart improved Wlad and make him almost invincible (I mean, against current crop of HW), he made also his fights hard to watch.

I know this style suits him well, but it is not doing good for boxing popularity as a sport, and I am not surprised HBO dropped him.
