I probably would give it a 10-8 just to make Divac happy.

I can't see giving Pac more than 5 rounds to Pac in this fight. Marquez had his number and it doesn't take away from his future accomplishments in his career.

at 4:12 in the video, JMM was gonna go down again but he hanged on to the ropes. What is everyone's opinion on this? If JMM used the rope so he wouldn't go down again, should that have been ruled as another knockdown in the same round, making the round 10-7 ?

I thought that too, but I see a lot of times this happens in the ring (DLH Vargas) and unless the fighter is blatantly being held by the ropes (Toney vs RJJ, Dirrel Abraham) then I think he gets a pass for it because he's on his feet and leaning against the ropes, which isn't against the rules.

lol, i remember divac arguing this but when someone told him that round 3 has more of an argument for being 10-7 round than round 8 being 10-8 round, he went quiet. jmm arguably can be held accountable for a 2nd knockdown for that round.

alot of rounds could've gone either way.

I have the exact same card as you except for round 7, I think its a clear jmm round, before the cut jmm was winning the round, after the cut manny put some pressure but he got countered in the proccess and after that until the end of the round marquez keep winning the round, pac tried to put pressure but he couldt do it effectively and got countered with right hands, I think this is the round you should rewatch and see and let me know what you think, dont watch it as a biased person, just watch that only seven round and let me know who you think really won that round...here is a link..

Please watch it as an unbiased fan, not because pac tried to put some pressure give him the round, evaluate effective agression and see how he got countered...

Total Punches:

JMM: 15/49 = 31%
Pacquiao: 54/12 = 22%

Jabs:

JMM: 3/14 = 21%
Pacquiao: 4/28 = 14%

Power Punches:

JMM: 35/12 = 34%
Pacquiao: 8/26 = 31%


Not becuase of the stats but if you want check them marquez also won, connected more and more effectively, just watch the videos as an unbiased fan...

PAC won the fight plain and simple. Sure it was close but PAC did more damage and won enough rounds even WITHOUT credit for the 2nd KD. It would have been nice to see a third fight with them but I think PAC winning 2 out of 2 fights was enough for PAC given how brutal the fights were. JMM's still great...he jsut couldn't beat PAC.
