Berlin or Moscow will be good place for Povetkin, but winner of Povetkin - Chambers will wait till 2009 because Thompson is on poleposition and waits winner Ibragimov - Wlad in the end of next year.

i watched chambers v brock this morning and looking at povetkin fight from an event and money point of view i would think the fight would happen in europe as the fight went out on a small hall low key show something similar to a spotlight european card.

I fully expect Thompson to lose his mandatory position.

And I fully expect Wlad to make a 2nd unification fight (probably with Chagaev) which leaves Thompson no other chance but to fight the winner of Povetkin vs. Chambers (though with a lil step aside fee for both mandatory challengers which will up the purse to real championship format).

Why would Thompson agree to f-up his title shot?

If Povetkin beats Chambers I would expect him to beat Thompson. Tony is slower with a more open defense, he keeps his hands low, and I think Povetkin hits harder. Tony also has this tendency that has become increasing prevelant amongst American fighters to simply cover up when pressured.

This fight should be on Wlad-Ibragimov undercard in NY.

I think winner of Wlad-Ibragimov will have to face Thompson in June or July (or must give up the WBO belt), and probably Wlad will face Povetkin next november, december.

and at least one of the judges will be an American, if not two out of three.

I think it is a non-point, because I do not think it will go 12, unless Chambers really has a chin to write home about.

You are right,langford!

It doesnt really matter whether three of the ring judges will be Germans or not.No way that Chambers will be able to go the full route with Povetkin!
I guess it is a safe bet to say that Povetkin will stop his outclassed and overmatched opponent somewhere between round 1 and 12.
