LATEST NEWS REPORTS INDICATE THAT SASHA POVETKIN IS GOING TO FIRE TEDDY ATLAS!!!!
Check out the other Internet boxing rags (the ones that are inferior to ESB!). Trouble between Teddy Atlas and Povetkin! A firing is on the horizon. A source close to Povetkin quotes the angry fighter as saying, "Atlas's tactics are not appropriate for Russians. Russians must always move forward...we must always attack. It is in our blood...we have no time for foolish manuevering. I am returning to my old fighting style -- like a true blooded Russian -- and I will knock out anyone once Atlas is gone!!" WHOA!!!! |

Wow!
Good for him, if true. I guess we'll be able to determine by Teddy's tone tonight if it isn't confirmed by then. |

If Atlas is fired any time soon, his management of Povetkin wont look very good. Its good for a young fighter to be kept away from the Klitschkos for a while, but he's really went backward in that time. If things had been different he could probably have Haye's WBA title by now, or could have had a big rematch with Chambers (that would have been pretty exciting). As it is, Atlas has done very little for his resume

Well, he now knows whats comming from me if he lied. I was a huge fan of Povetkin from the amateurs and modeled my style off him back when I boxed, so I'm really hoping his career turns into what it should have been (if its not too late). And the quote has got to be bullshit. |
