I never thought of it until recently, but Carlito Monzon and Vitali Klitschko have much in common in a sense of style and ring generalship... I'm sorry if some or many fail to see the resemblance, but its clear as day to me.... GREATNESS!

I thought of tat comparison awhile ago, of course Carlos was the better/greater fighter, but they both were tall, awkward fighters who had a good sense of range and distance. Their styles are ugly, but they do good little subtle stuff here and there. I remember Manny Steward talking about how Vitali will just take a little side step or two to throw off an opponent's rhythm when he's pressing. They also can get away with the whole leaning back thing due to their height/reach and knowing the distance.

Monzon may as well have fought in the silent era..in the 20's or something..he and Schmeling are two of the most mysterious of champions. It's just unthinkable that there hasn't been any mainstream books or movies made of Monzon's life..by any Argentine or Latin sources for that matter.
