Who do you have in front of Jeffries?
Who behind?
Johnson lost, drew, and had too many unspectacular wins over mediocre opposition make the top 5 on merit in the ring. Yet some people place him there. Head to head, he's in trouble vs the better champs post Willard, and his title reign was lousy. Johnson drew the color line against the best black contenders far worse than Dempsey or Jeffries did, but you won't see that on liberal documentaries.

Currently I have Ali, Holmes, and Lewis ahead of Jeffries. Jeffries to me was the lone old timer pre Sonny Liston who had the size and athleticism to compete with modern greats. The other old timers at heavyweight pre-Liston were too small, and the larger ones were too stiff.
