the joe louis reighn of his bum of the month club or even before joe louis stepped into the spotlight. for instance could a gritty tough braddock have beaten joe f? how bout him vs galento? lets here how smokin joe would have fared thru the 30s 40s and 50s

ooh tough fights good call.but i think his left hook would have stood him in good action possibly for the wins over charles(i believe joe was bigger massively and hit harder than charles)however charles was an extremely good fighter. as far as wolcott goes it depends on which one is jummping in the ring. u could never bee too sure about wolcott even though he was great. to me he seemed sometimes hot and cold.

Frazier would have slipped up at some point. Frazier in no way demonstrated the type of longevity and sustained intensity that brings 25 title defences. He fell off too soon for that. It's not impossible that in a different time and place, Frazier would maintain his intensity, but ones a speed-pressure-fighter drops off, he drops off far enough that he can be troubled by good fighters, especially at the rate Louis put them away.
Maintaining intensity and drive once in possession of the title is a skill and mindset all of its own, and not one that gets enough credit in this thread for me...I won't name names, but I don't think Frazier makes the finishing line unbeaten. Don't look for anybody to beat him early doors though, and I bet he doesn't repeat Louis's slip up against Schmeling. |

Outside businesses did play a role in Smokin Joe's demise.
There was a loss of interest after the Frazier vs. Ali II fight. But replace Joe Louis with 'Smokin Joe' and he may have ripped up that entire group too, including '18' straight versus 'white guys'. |
