Default Big shot taken in sparring...

Took big shot to the head in sparring... I was sparring w/ a bigger guy today in sparring he was 180 lbs and I am 150. I got hit on the side of the head by a right hook and as soon as it hit me I backed up into the ropes. Coming out of the ring I felt nausea and dizzyness. I still feel a little bit out of it though. Is this really bad? I mean I felt like I really got cranked in the head. I'm kinda pissed off cause that guy always get pissed of in sparring and starts to wail shots, and he punch real hard.

Is this something to be concerned about. I mean no one else notices a real difference in me but I kinda feel a little bit out of it. Like dizzyness and my head feels wierd.

Heh I am glad you shared that. The exact same thing happened to me today in sparring. I am 165 and my opponent was 190. He caught me coming in with a straight right on my temple. I was planning on doing some running after but I just opted to recover in the sauna instead. I still have a bit of a headache. Well I guess thats why we have weight classes.

I know I'll try to box him more next time and go after him once he gets tired.

Sounds like a mild concussion to me. if you have somebody around you have them keep in eye on you in case things get worse. but usually these kinds of things clear up in about a day just kick back and avoid any kind of physical exertion til you feel better.

Why does everyone they get wailed by have to be at least 20 pounds heavier?? I find it more understandable to be decked by a lighter person really. I was 68 kg he was 62 kg and he made me see stars.

Back to topic, see a doctor. Dont leave things to chance.
