Nope, no where near as hard.

Billy Conn would of suffered a disturbing and career, trumatic knock out........"If he EVER fought George Foreman".

Foreman was harder and stronger but Louis better in all other areas.

Gil Glancy once said that Foreman wasn't a power puncher, he was a clubber and I agree. A big strong guy who would club you to death. Louis on the other hand was a power puncher. He could take you out with a fast short punch that you probably wouldn't see coming. One is like being hit in the head with a bowling ball travelling at 40mph or a baseball travelling at 90mph. Either one's going to knock you senseless.

George was a clubbing fight but Louis was a cleaner sharper puncher that had late power. Louis put together a 6-punch combo after he really had the guy out with the 1st punch...JL was accurate and precise ..Foreman was a wide swinger with clubbing force and limited stamina

Combination punching is always more deadly than single blows. Louis had less power than the true one-punch KO artists, but three precise but slightly less heavy blows delivered in quick succession are more likely to score a KO than one somewhat heavier punch.

Good book, but yes, as you said, some of the selections were strange. Hagler wasn't a bad choice, I mean, at the time of writing he was knocking everybody out. While not a great hitter alongside Louis, he was a big banger in his own era.
Hagler stopped a lot of guys, but I dont see him as a really dynamite midlleweight puncher.
Several of his best wins were over men coming up in weight ,and others were cut eye tkos,he didn't hit like Hart, for example.
Lausse, Fernandez,Hostak, Steele,Ketchel,Valdez, SRR, all, probably had significantly more power.
Hagler, maybe ranks with Briscoe and Tiger.

I suppose its how you deliver what you've got that matters.
