Agreed. How about we attribute Shogun's "lack of conditioning" to a sustained body attack by Jon Jones? Those brutal shots and having a 200+ pounder laying on you for 2-3 minutes would drain any man.

That liver shot that ended it was a thing of beauty. I'd love to see the record state Submission (Liver Shot). Anyone that has landed or absorbed a perfect liver shot knows what a fucking night ender that is. Jones is fucking scary good.

He tapped just once, Jones was already away from him. He might've heard the ref as well.
He was done in, he battled valiantly. I guarantee no one gives Jones as much hassle or manages to survive as long as Shogun did, for a long time. |

Shogun had absolutely nowhere to go and couldn't do anything. It was really fascinating to witness.
And this is the guy that solved the Machida puzzle, twice. Jon Jones actually made him look slow. |

...I'm still pretty bummed about this fight, now I understand how the Rampage fans felt when watching Shogun kick the shit out of him. |

Well I wonder how you know that? Shogun was clearly not 100%, if you deny that its hard to believe you are familiar with shoguns career. That said I am not taking anything away from a fantastic performance by Jon jones, Im sorry but the shogun jones beat was the same shogun forrest did, and I give them both credit for their victory over one of the best Lhw to ever live. Just dont think that was the best Rua had to offer if he was 100%. I know any differnt perspective on the fight on this forum is immediately seen as crashing the jon jones party we seem to be having, but we have to be realistic here, it was a great win over an opponent who wasnt his best. Hopefully in the future their will be a rematch. |

Shogun may well be done after that fight. Brutal. The last minute of the fight was horrible to watch. Jones V Silva is a terrible mismatch and shouldn't happen. It's all well and good comparing their skill sets but Jones is fucking huge, rashad was a HW once upon a time and after the fight when he got in the Octagon he looked like a fucking toy next to Jones.

You think so Chimba? Well of course you do you said as much even before UFC 128. I definetly think a rematch will be a hell of a lot more competitive, but I am not confident that Shogun will win, but I do think its possible. |
