Default What did y'all think of a pre-Tito David Reid?

Been watching a bit of his earlier stuff, pro and amatuer..Handy fighter, had potential.

Yes Reid was a solid guy. Very fast good boxing skills, but not a big punch. You just knew the eyelid was going to cause serious problem for him as a pro, because you need all your vision in boxing and guys went right for it. As soon as he took a few shots he was going to become a one eyed fighter.

Shame about the eye, they operated on it at least a couple of times but could never fix it.

He did have some bad defensive habits and relied a fair bit on his reflexes..I mean he kept his left low a lot of the time and tried to duck or shoulder roll to avoid right hands...pretty impressive he could win all types of accolades am & pro and give such a commendable showing against a peak Tito considering it hindered his vision so badly.

I think he had more than 2 operations. I saw Reid get knocked out cold in the gym before he turned pro. He was having problems with that eye even before he turned pro. Everyone knew it but he still made some money which is good for him. Dan Goosen cashed him out pretty quickly against Tito, but I dont think he could have done much more as a pro. He took a pretty good beating from Tito.

Didn't like him that much rock.Well, ability-wise anyway. He was entertaining and made for good fights.

He was quick and mobile, but not that skilled.Just didnt see much ring smarts about him.

reid was good but was put on the fast track and wasn't ready. his career peaked in the 3rd rd vs tito when he knocked him down. after that, it was all downhill unfortunately.
