IBF MW World champ Sebastian Sylvester will be required to face his mandatory Aussie Daniel Geale 24 - 1 (15 LO's) in the next few months.
Geale who last October stopped Roman Karmazin 40 - 4 (26 KO's) to win the IBF eliminator is now mandatory for Sylvester. As we all know the IBF will enforce the mandatory fight and time is almost up before a purse bid will be called by the IBF. What are your thoughts on how Sylvester is going these days? I hear he did very well against Oral but had problems with Karamazin Who will win this fight guys????? |

Yeah, SS has had mixed results lately. He looked much better in the Oral fight than he had just a few months earlier in what could be deemed a gift win over Karmazin (who Geale then destroyed).
Even when he's looking his best, though - he has a penchant for wanting to go to war. It makes him one of the more exciting German titlists, but it also means he's liable to get KTFO by someone like Geale (who's really on his game now and is probably at least as dangerous as Amin Asikainen, the last man to stop Sylvester and had him hurt in their rematch as well). |

Geale can KO Sylvester which would make me immensely happy. The less Sylvester type champs in the game, the better for the sport. Let's hope it happens, Geale wins and actually makes some decent defences. WAR GEALE!

I don't get all the Sylvester hate.
Give the man some credit, he has been in some exciting wars. He is not Felix Sturm, the conman. Still I would love to see Steven seGeale pull it off.

Stieglitz and Sylvester in particular do not have overly cautious styles and are usually matched pretty evenly against fellow B-level challengers. Their fights are rarely boring. Sure, you could call them "weak titlists" compared to some of the ones in other divisions...but weaker than the likes of Cornelius Bundrage or Mzonke Fana? Hardly. They aren't bottom of the barrel, which is where most people seem to relegate any German titlist. Sturm...well, yeah I can see why people find him boring. And he certainly doesn't take on a level of competition that's a high degree of difficulty for his talents. Huck is the one who should get the most flack, IMO. A world titlist who literally doesn't even know how to box? That's embarrassing. At least his competition is good though (sometimes). |

Ok the fight is set for the 7th of May in Germany.....looking forward to this fight...if I was a betting man I would say Sylvester at home by close points win....however being an aussie Geale is going to win this fight and bring home the title
