Jorge Santiago vs. Brian Stann

PRELIMINARY CARD (Spike TV)

Thiago Alves vs. Rick Story
Brad Pickett vs. Miguel Torres

It's good for the fans since they won't have to pay to watch those two guys fight. I don't see how it could hurt Alves and Torres since they are getting paid and will be on national tv. Perhaps the preliminary shows haven't been getting good tv ratings as of late. It makes sense to throw a few borderline stars into the lineup to boost the audience's interest level.

Torres was very uninspiring in his last bout. He had Banuelos very obviously outmatched, but was content to sit back and use the jab to win, extremely frustrating fight from someone who should be one of the most exciting fighters in the division.

Kinda surprised Alves isn't on the main card. Granted, he looked shit against Fitch, but he looked fucking amazing against Howard.

Yea man totally torres is boring and needs to be cut! yea alves is in my opinion is good but is not really doing anything amazing atm compared to gsp, and diaz who are in my opinion the most entertaining and skilled fighters in the welterweight division and hopefully jake shields wins in ufc 129!!!!

also Alves looks the part and has a good highlight reel there probably hoping thatll boost the figures

Thiago alves did not look like shit against Fitch !!!

He was outgrappled in that fight , and judging by the fighters body language's at the end of the fight , had it been a 5 round fight i think Fitch would of been caught with something along the way in the stand up exchanges , Alves looked energetic , Fitch seemed happy to hear the final bell .

Alves is a top 3 WW in the world and a P4P entry , this is embarassing for him not be on the PPV card , even though his opponent is B level

As for Torres , this is a man who 15 months ago people thought was the #1 P4P fighter in the world , or ............... one of the top P4P fighters in the world , he is now fighting a more strategic fighting utilising his skills to make sure he gets the W , this is after years of entertaining fights in the lower divisions where Torres has flew caution to the wind for a long long time . And he's fighting Pickett a man who likes a good scrap too !!

His last fight was a technical masterclass , and how Stefan Struve , Santiago or Stann can be shown before him is way beyond me

I'm a massive Alves fan, but he looked fucking terrible in the Fitch fight. He cut waaayy too much weight and he looked drained and shit. He looked slow and sloppy and crap. He started coming back in the third round, I dare say only because he knew he was losing and he dug as deep as he could. He had nothing in that fight, he looked worn out just from his entrance (during which, there wasn't a drop of sweat on his body, I might add)
