Boxrec has Gamboa at 166cm and Nonito at 168cm though, so if correct, Nonito is indeed taller though. |

Wow people are really going overboard. Gamboa is a very solid 126 pounder who has never been hurt at 126. Dropped from being off balance is the worst that has happened to him.
Donaire will be going up from 118 pounds to 126. How will he take Gamboas power? Will he even be able to generate enough power to get Gamboas respect?? As of now you gotta go with the most probable outcome which is Gamboa TKO. Gamboa hurt Salido for gods sake. That man is a tank and comes into the ring at 140. I still think Gamboa would be faster than Donaire. I dont think we have ever seen Donaire with someone faster. |

I think Pacquiao and Mayweather have proven that superior skill beats a disadvantage in size. And who is to say that Donaire won't be even better at 126? He might fill out well and have even more pop. I think when it comes to the elite fighters of the sport, weight is secondary to skill. Gamboa is still a wild, wild man. A very skilled counter puncher like Donaire is exactly the type of guy who can make Gamboa look bad.

GAMBOA TKO
Although if Donaire Proves himself against legit 122/126 punders.. I'd favor him for sure. Just the size is to much difference and we need to know why he has been in the lower weight for so long... Hiding a chin problem? Power not good? Speed slows? Who knows but by moving up the answers will be there and we can gauge how he would do...he may even turn into a much bigger monster.. but who knows the future. Who knows though. To early to tell.. If the fight was signed for the summer I'd favor Gamboa hands down because of the size difference... |

I like Nonito, in and out the ring. He has great footwork, punches with power, and is very athletic. But, I'll wait to see if he can bring all his attributes to 126 before I even think about Nonito vs Gamboa. I would like to see If Nonito can take out Rigondeaux at 122 first. |

I think Donaire is more polished in pro boxing at this point, but I'm not sure he can take Gamboa's power yet. Gamboa was fighting at 130 when he started, he's a much stronger man naturally. It would be a good fight but I certainly think Donaire has some good fights to take at 118 still, but he at least needs to take a fight or two at jr feather or feather before he should even think about this fight. This could be a superfight in two years between two guys surely to be on top by then, I want to see it, just not yet.

Donaire is a beast but we need to see how he caries the weight as he moves up and we need to see how he takes a punch at these higher weight classes.
