Anybody can get knocked out and I'm not saying it didn't happen ,but you can't trust wiki or some article.

Anyway, yeah Vitali got KO'd by a Pele Reid kick. Not really relevant nowadays to be honest though.

im somewhat of a casual fan of vitali because of professionalism ....but to say his chin is one of the greatest of all times is somewhat funny.
his chin is only as good as the guys trying to punch him in it....not exactly fought murders row....and at 6 foot 8 he simply is out of range to be hit by most...so...if he is not smashed in the chin by someone that can hit, how do you know how good his chin is?

I don't really understand why Vitali claimed the ko by Reid was a leg kick - isn't it better to be stopped by a head kick?

Vitali's got a solid chin though and getting ko'd by a head kick when he was young doesn't change that.

Everybody gets knocked out in Kickboxing, its way different that boxing, it's okay in this sport. I mean guys get knocked out and still come back strong, doesnt mean they have a glass chin.

Well no because being stopped by leg kicks just mean that you couldnt stand on your legs anymore, having nothing to do with your chin.

Are you implying there is shame in being koed by a punch to the jaw?

Quite an interesting comprison actually: in kickboxing losses are just part of the sport and no one seems to really give them too much though, seems like a loss in boxing is the end of a career by how some people act.

I mean, look at Cro Cop and Alistair Overeem; the former went on to win the Open Weight Pride GP (but had a fair few losses in both K1 and Pride before hand), and overeem went on to be K1, Strikeforce and Dream HW champ after also suffering a few amount of (quite brutal) stoppages.

Perhaps because that what really happened? Pele Reid - Vitali was under light contact rules where knockouts and excessive force are fouls.

Wikipedia is most likely wrong. It has Roosmalen beating Vitali in 1995 in Kiev but Vitali won a gold medal in 1995 WAKO World Championships in Kiev.

Exactly. It's sort of like if I went around bragging about how in high school my basketball team beat another team with 2-future NBA'ers on it. Ya, it was cool at the time and it's something to tell the grandkids, but they had a NBA career, and everyone on the team that won didn't. People change, people improve, especially from a teenager, and life goes on.

This stuff gets brought up by one of two kinds of people. People who are Klitschko haters, or people who know and/or are associated with the other party. The 2nd is much easier to deal with.

that article claims to have this mystery video that has never come to the light of day, there isn't even a event Win/Loss sheet to back up this KO claim.

shit if thats the case ill make a article about how i KO'd Tyson in a MMA match and have video to prove it, then ill be the fucking man.
