It's proof that this fighter comes prepared 100% for every fight and should be respected for it.

WELL SAID Promoters and Managers protect their fighter's too much they think a loss will hurt them too much financially! that's bullshit, if a fighter loses but put's forth a great effort his stock will rise, to many fighters bitch their way out by fighting Bums with losing records just to protect that 0, i hate that shit!

I would love all the sanctioning bodies to go away, that would force fighters to fight each other. Everyone wants to be a champion and if there was only 2 champion it would force them to fight. I mean if you had a fighter and you wanted to make him a champion you would put him in with Cintron before Mayweather, make him a champion the safter route.

Pft getting a loss today is like asking why even fight for greatness?

It's almost impossible to fight for even somewhere in the top 30 ATG because of how highly ranked the fighters of the past area.

People use the, well they fought every week / month.

Well of course they did, but so did every fighter they were fighting, it's not like SRR was fighting every week and all the other guys weren't. ( I Love how its used against todays fighters) + Back in the day if you had a serious fight you weren't FORCED to take a certain amount of days off because you could fight again.

It will be impossible forever for someone to live up to SRR. Bullshit IMO but impossible.

It gets better and better each time you say it. Have a go
Yeah but Joe Calzaghe has the weakest resume of all active undefeated champions yet people like you want to mention him as an ATG

That's only to the novices.

What matters is who these fighters fights and not the "0" loses.

Can you compare Valero to Mosley?

That is just one ingredient of getting an undefeated record. Don't forget the tomato can!

I dont think people realize how misleading some of these records are and how carefully matched some fighters really are. Its not enough to see what a fighter does it also who he is doing it against. The quality of opposition that a fighter seeks out. At some point a great fighter has such confidence in his skill that he is willing to fight anyone. When a fighter has weaknesses its in his best interest to be careful about who he fights. There is no shame in being a very good Champion. Greatness involves risk and not everyone can do that. It not about who he fought, sometimes its about who he didnt fight and why.
