Hi Mates,
Good Day!! I'm a veggie, 24 years old, 159 cm tall and 49 kg... And all the parameters are odds for me.. Still, I'm going to start my Boxing career from tomorrow.. My friends and family are against it but that was not good enough to stop me Just wishing some advice from you pros.. What are the chances that I will shine in this.. My Goal is to learn the art, practice it, innovate and win some zonal level fights.. My advantages - Speed and Agil.. At least that is what I think I'm better at.. My disadvantages - Like I said in the first line.. EVERYTHING.. Freddie |

You could get seriously hurt if you're not prepared fully both mentally and physically, if you're stepping in a boxing gym for the first time tomorrow I really wouldn't hold out any hope of fighting this in your first year at the very least...

Just work hard, don't be a pussy, and see where it takes you.
If you're anything like me, you'll soon be having a laugh at yourself for how nervous/serious you were when you first started out. Have fun with it, you have nothing to prove. |

OK, by my calculations and your info you are 24 yrs. old, 5 ft. 2 1/2 inches tall and weigh just under 110 lbs.
From the tone of your post, you have no real boxing experience and you have decided to make this your immediate purpose in life???? That's going to be a hard sell to get a trainer to take you serious unless you bring some massive skills to the table right out the gate. Face it, most guys your age that are boxing have been at it since they were teens, if not before. Just look at how many champions in the lower weight divisions that are not even your age yet. At age 24 I'm assuming you have a full time job and bills to pay. Working 8+ hours a day then trying to train for boxing is very demanding. You'll figure it out soon enough. |
