I'm taking Lopez in this fight. Maidana is a crude slugger. Lopez has more tools and has the toughness to beat Maidana.

Maidana is too much of a goon to lose.

He'll break Josesito down and stop him late or win a UD. This new semi-slick somewhat skilled Maidana under Garcia is too much for Josesito. That dude should still be at 140, and would be if Victor wasn't a tree.

Maidana tko late rounds. You just dont beat maidans by being tough and scrappy( ask soto karrass where that got him ). Lopez does not have the boxing skills to outbox chino. He will end up brawling with maidana and get overwhelmed. Ofcouse he can always land a lucky punch that can break chino's jaw. If not he is the receiving end of a beating if they go to war.

What tools? He was losing the ortiz fight until he broke victors jaw. He has a loss to jessie vargas. He does not have the " tools " to outbox maidana. And he sure as hell wont win a brawl with el chino.

Lopez has huge balls. Whether you like his style or not you have to respect him. Guy will fight literally anybody as long as he can make the division. Wish more boxers were like him in that sense as boxing would be in a way better state than it is now.

No closer to relieving Paulie Malignaggi of the WBA Belt he's sitting on, unfortunately.

After Malignaggi got beat up but received a gift decision over former shot Erik Morales victim Pablo Cesar Cano, GBP probably decided, "well, fuck, now we can't give Malignaggi live opponents."

There are some rumors that have Malignaggi defending the WBA belt against his mandatory in Dubai in a few months, but I'll be very surprised if that happens.

At any rate, Maidana is a top 10 guy in the welterweight division and might hold a belt there someday, but he's only top 10 because this is the weakest 147 has been in a long time, and as far as getting a belt goes, GBP aren't making it easy for him because he's not one of their golden boys they're interested in pushing.

He was robbed against Vargas. He has much better boxing ability than Maidana.

Let the man fight at 140, there's plenty of options there.

He doesn't want to fight at 140. Khan was presented to him -- even at a catchweight -- and he didn't want to go below 144.
