Golovkin wouldn't take long to time him, I'd put the house on a GGG KO.

Golovkin is flatfooted and his defense is a joke: jabbed all night.

Stop the hype!

GGG would time "Don" Sergio and take a win that would look effortless.

I've been watching every GGG fight I can find, to try and understand how he racked up 345 amateur wins. People are seriously underestimating his defensive skill and foot work! I'm not savvy enough to understand how he does it, but somehow he can take the rhythm out of any fighter and impose his will. He has the balance to counter punch a counter punch. He does get hit, but not often, and never in bunches. His opponents always look terrible, its like he knows their next move and thwarts it with his karate arm moves, foot position, and distance.

His offense is also his defense, people act like they are getting attacked by a shark when he is only throwing a jab. He then has some Jeti power that senses where thier head is going and sends two fists that arrive right on time.

It doesn't matter if you're Cuban, American, Columbian, European, tall or strong- he makes you look like a monkey on ice. All of his opponents end up looking scared and frustrated.

This guy sees things in slow motion and has the composure to not make mistakes. I would not put my money on Martinez because speed isn't this guys kryptonite. It will take someone with amazing ring IQ (like Ward) to beat him.

I hate it when fans overhype a fighter to the extent where they begin to make him unlikable

I've been supporting Golovkin for a very long time but to say that he KO's Martinez is really stretching it.

He hasn't fought anyone close to his level and much of Golovkin's credibility still hangs on his amateur record

I can see him beating Chavez Jr, who in my opinion is not very skilled, but I dont think he would know what to do with Martinez, whose style is one of a kind and who is much faster with his punches.

Good post and nice humility. I have no clue on the subtle nature of how the guy fights either. This was more evident in many of his amateur bouts that you took the time to research. Most poster's simply watch a couple fights and see GGG get hit a few times while cutting off the ring and suddenly he is a middleweight Travis Walker.

Regarding the potential Martinez fight; Wake me in two years when and if it ever happens. I sort of like GGG's chances as of now but I will sure as Hell like them much more two years down the road.

Anyway... Neither I see GGG beating Martinez. But who matters... this fight is not going to happen.
You mean be able to stand toe to toe with Jr for 12 rounds like Rubio and Zbik did? Without Lawrence Cole, Jr. might not have earned stoppages over Lee or Manfredo either.

Golovkin would attack Chavez like a shark attacking a dead whale.
