Default Roberto Duran vs Floyd Mayweather Jr.

I learned today that, apparently, Roberto said about Floyd that he's not that great and that he would have been nothing more than avarage had he fought in his era. Now, this is not a fantasy fight, my question is how do you think Floyd would actually look in the 80's, having to fight Hearns, Benitez, Leonard and Marvin?

Well for starters I do think Duran would beat Mayweather because he would apply constant pressure on him and he's relentless aggression and body punches would take their toll. He' systematically break him down and eventually Duran would get the KO.

Mayweather wouldn't fight Hearn's or Hagler so no need to analysis these fight. And SRR would also beat Mayweather because he's a more offensive fighter. Not sure about Mayweather against Benitez, but if Mayweather is winning against any of them, he'd have the best change against Benitez

Floyd would never be in the ring with Hagler. I don't think Floyd needs to be 147 ever -- he could fight his entire career at 130, 135 and 140. I think with the competition being the way it was, he'd steer clear of Hearns and Leonard.

He could beat Pryor, Arguello, Dejesus. Wait, that was seventies mostly.

I can see no victory over Duran for Mayweather. Duran's relentlessness and skills are too much for him. The Duran of Montreal vs. the best night of Mayweather and Duran wins a wide decision or a late stoppage, IMO.

That's a lot of certainty for a five-pound difference, heavy.

I have the utmost respect for Mayweather as a fighter,he's definitely the best of the modern era.
However despite all his skills especially defensively I just don't think he would have been able to keep Duran off him.
Duran by late ko.
