I think Pulev should have been activated for Mandatory

No one is forcing Pulev not to fight. The IBF has not control if he decides to fight or not. Seems like he's trying to cash out because its an incredibly bad career move to have only 17 fights, be inactive and than go to Wlad. He has other options such as climbing the rankings of another org. Would Wlad not give him a voluntary defense? That would be odd considering he gave shots to Wach and Pianeta, neither who are true world class fighters.

K2 should do the right thing and give Pulev his shot. Wlad needs a name like Pulev if he doesn't want what little legacy he has completely flushed down the drain.

Pulev (like any top class contender) won't be signing the typical K2 slave contract they offer to voluntary challengers

Only fringe guys without a chance at earning decent money will accept the terrible deals that K2 offer to voluntaries.

misleading poll

he can lose his regional title as are the rules for any sanctioned IBF or whatever fight even eliminator

but that doesnt mean he has to be inactive

That's fine. He should keep fighting though to gain experience and climb another orgs ratings. Wlad is supposed to fight Povetkin next, this won't happen for at least 6 more months which means Pulev getting his shot is nearly a year away which would render him inactive for nearly a year and a half if he were to abide by the IBF's ridiculous rules. This guy needs to keep fighting if he expects to have any real chance of beating Wlad. Otherwise he's just cashing out.

That's definitely not fair - inactivity ruins a fighter.
But is there anything stopping him from having a non-title fight?

What's wrong with, say, a 10 rounder against someone in the top 50? There's nothing stopping him from doing that.
