I am a very big Mayweather fan, but do not disparage Pacquaio etc. I think it's really stupid that there cannot be anything said about one of them, without the other one immediately being mentioned. Why does everyone have to be a "flomo" or a "pactard?" Both of the radical fans of each guy have caused unnecessary hate towards both. I MUCH prefer Mayweather, because I absolutely love defensive specialists, but I do not dislike Pacman, and think he is a great fighter too. I wish there were more people who were real fans, and didn't try to create an argument out of everything. The extremist fans on both sides remind me of religious people, they are going to believe what they want no matter what.

On topic, I do think without a doubt Mayweather is the greatest defensive fighter of all time. He is one of the few people who can go entire fights without ever getting hit clean on the chin, which is flat out incredible. He has a tremendous sense of distance, incredible reflexes, and amazing ring intelligence. The only thing he is missing now, besides his youth, is the incredible movement he had at super featherweight and lightweight in his younger days. The fact he has had to adopt more of a "brawler" type style as he got older, and has been able to still be successful, is a testament to the fighter he is. He unfortunately hasn't taken on all the opponents he should have, so he can only be put up so far on the ATG list, but he is by far my favorite fighter to watch of all time. Roy Jones Jr. before his landslide is my second favorite, and is a VERY close second.

I think his resume is legit enough to call him the most talented fighter if the post Jones era.

The stats would be much more impressive with just the following additions.

Freitas at sfw.
Casa at lw.
Tszyu at lww.
Williams and Margo at ww.

I'm not saying he ducked them guys btw, I'm saying those additions increase his resume worth by a clear level.

No it wouldn't.

It doesn't matter what Floyd does.

Even if he had Pac 2009, Margo 2008, Williams 2008, Martinez 160, Ward 168, Canelo 154, Prime Mosley, Prime DLH, Mayorga, Tsuyu, Hamed after Corrales

People would still bash his resume. It honestly doesn't matter what he does.

It wouldn't up his resume any more

People are always going to hate.

You must just be a Floyd hater then. How anyone can say those victories are not an improvement to what he has already done is beyond me.

Nope. People would always bash him and put him in the fictional "Top 50 atg"

Even if he had done all of this.

Like I said, you're just a hater. An emotional one at that.

Average of all his fights.

He had a 46%-16 (or 15) before he fought Cotto.

Don't know if it changed, but it shouldn't be a significant change after 1 fight.

It's hard to know for sure. I supect Mayweather would be up there though. There is the eye test, but some kind of formula like punchstat or compubox would give us a better idea though.

Had no idea the percentages were this good!

'Take compubox with a pinch of salt' - although I agree, I do believe they are more accurate in Mayweather's case as it's easier to see when he lands than it is to see when a Pacquiao etc. lands. It's ACTUALLY difficult to see if punches land on Mayweather or not - for example, ODLH had taken Mayweather to a split decision, but this was an absolute boxing masterclass for Mayweather, who dodged so many punches.

Mayweather = Best defense of all time.
Whitaker = Best defensive fighter of all time.
And yes, that does make sense.
