Macklin wants one more fight before fighting Golovkin.
He already said that in his recent interview: “It is a really tough fight. I am not going to get in with him in June after only having a round in 15 months so what they are trying to do is make a double header in June with Gennady Golovkin in a world title fight with me on the card. The idea being if both of us win we fight each other at the end of the year." |

i dont think Barker is ahead of Macklin but i do agree with the previous comment that Barker gives GGG a better fight. I think Macklin would outwork, wear down and stop Barker late but Macklins style being so head on is dangerous against GGG. i think its a bad style matchup for him although possibly a good one for us the fans.

How much we can read into that considering the level of comp I don't know but it bodes well. If Barker was to fight with that kind of venom against Macklin I could see Barker stopping him. Of course he's the better boxer as well so can keep Macklin at bay when he comes on strong. Hopefully one or the other picks up a title then I think those domestic grudge matches will start getting made. |

You still on the GGG-is-an-unstoppabale-wrecking-machine hype train? He is supposed to knock out decently chinned Macklin in 8 rounds while going 7 rounds with a mediocre chinned LMW?

It would be a real shitter for Macklin if he were to be put in there with GGG, when Martinez departs he will be a major player in the division at least for a little while. If i were Macklin i wouldnt go anywhere near GGG.

Quillin is probably so happy about the HBO Goldenboy beef he can now avoid GGG forever.
Geale will continue to hide out in Australia and fight Mundine for a 3rd time... Props to Mac the knife if he does indeed fight Golovkin... |

With Sam Soliman's failed drug test, hopefully HBO will push for Geale-Golovkin in June with maybe a Macklin-Rubio/Vera winner for September?
It's too bad about Pirog, with HBO looking to invest in the MW division. Korobov also needs to step up soon. If he looks good against Finely next month, Curtis Stevens should make an HBO appearance soon aswell. |

I thought both mac and murray got robbed against sturm, but murray looked a little more consistent throughout the fight.I thought Barker and Macklin done good against martinez but both where a level below him.I like mac, murray and barker and would love to see them all in good fights against strong opponents.I reckon they would all give account of themselves against GGG,I'm unsure on his "greatness"
