If Garcia can make the weight safely without compromising himself and comes into the fight with a steel-plated cup, he'll win easily. He's bigger, taller, longer, and hits much harder. Mares won't be too hard to find either.

I'll say Garcia wins a UD only because his killer instinct is so awful it's in the same league as Peter Quillin's, and also because Mares is a tough SOB.

u can question his killer instinct, but look @ his KO percentage.

top it off with Mares being a naturally smaller guy, that gets wobbled @ SBW every now then. i can't see him lasting twelve rounds with mikey, especially with his mindless come forward style.

target practice for Mikey.

edit: hmmmm, I thought this was saying that Mares vs. Ponce was at a 124 catch weight. Glad it's not.

I would pick Mikey easily.

The featherweight division will be loaded in a few moments.Mikey Garcia is at the helm. Then we have Bily Dib,Salido,Chris John,Ponce de Leon,Mares and Donaire will move up.
The sad thing is we wont see the interesting fights anyway
Mikey and Donaire have the same trainer
Mares has promotional disputes
And Chris John is hiding in Indonesia

Mikey.

Too big and one of the most skilled fighters in the world. Mikey is a pretty big dude too for 126. I thin he can rule all the way up to 140 and possibly 147.

Is that a joke?

Hell fucking no is he ever a truly dominant force at 140. (just my opinion, but I think your prediction is going out on a limb)

I see it similar, ponce is dangerous for anyone and has that puncher's chance. I would love to see mikey or donaire fight him

Garcia picks him apart, and probably stops Mares. Mares to willing to exchange and against Garcia, a guy with all the skilled, AND natural advantages, It'd be a mistake. Mares has a good work rate, which could make it difficult for Garcia at times, but Garcia is just too skilled and would pick him apart, much like Salido.

At this point I pick Mares due to him fighting and beating all type of "styles" in a very strong division.
