Stylistically Rigo. I just think hes a monster, but his punch resistance makes me lean towards favoring Mares over Donaire a little bit more.

Pressure, when educated, can trouble Nonito, as the Vasquez fight showed. Nobody's shown him any kind he hasn't been able to overcome yet. Making Nonito lead can also yield success, as the Mathebula fight showed. But nobody's been able to make him really pay for it.

Because Mares is so relentless and durable and Donaire likes to pick his shots, I think Mares is the bigger challenge. Rigo has a tricky style, but Nonito can probably match him in a chess match and make his punches count much more given the power he packs. Mares's weakness in spots have been ineffectiveness backing up, but I don't see Donaire pressing him. Mares is great at cutting off a ring behind a tight guard and is not at all hesitant to trade, and that can confuse Donaire's radar.

Rigondeaux. He'll take Donaire to school.

Donaire doesn't really run, so I think Mares cutting off the ring is a non-factor. If Mares stands and trades, he's getting KTFO'd. Agbeko (B fighter across the board) stunned him very badly, but elected not to follow up for some reason.

I picked Mares on the basis that his chin is great.

I still favor Donaire to win, but Vasquez showed volume can trouble Donaire, unless he finds that sweet spot for a counter. He likes to pick his punches, Mares just throws so much. Cutting off the ring is a valuable asset because Donaire likes to circle and control the center. Agbeko stunned Mares but Mares is just relentless.

He was practically sprinting away from Rafael Concepcion

Rigo. Runners have more chances of winning against Donaire.

I'd give Mares the best shot but not by much, Donaire needs both these guys on his resume anjd I'd favor him over both.
