Macklin didn't knock Martinez down he pushed him over then held his hand up to celebrate in an embarrassing fashion as if he had just connected with the right that Hearns KO'd Duran with. There was hardly anything between the performances of Barker and Macklin against Martinez, both did better than expected but were never in any danger of winning the fight and got stopped when Sergio decided to stop them basically.

I like Barker and I think he's performed well in recent fights (including Martinez) and I think he'd beat Macklin.
A far cry since I seen Belghecham tee off at him at will! |

I could take it or leave it, not overly excited by it, same goes for Lee and Murray. Is the big fish in a small pond scenario really. Even if they are good tear ups i can't get away from the fact none of the 4 of them will ever be talked about as the number 1 middleweight in the world. Macklin definetely needs taking down a peg or two. He believe's he is far more talented and important than he actually is. He has spoke about Golovkin in June. Go for it Matt, won't be making much noise after that fight.

I do agree Macklin needs to be taken down a peg or two, I liked him when he was English, but he can fuck off now he's decided he's a foreigner. |

His website is hilarious, he points out in the first sentence that he travels with an Irish passport, then they slip in that his parents are Irish before the rest of his Bio clearly states he grew up in England, studied English at A-Level, trained in England, fought for the British Title etc.
They love a plastic Irishman in NYC anyway everyone you meet with a thick american accent is apparently Irish although none of them have ever been there. |
