Default Re: Teen Boxer Dies in TKO Loss...

Very sad to see this. Boxing is no doubt one of the most dangerous sports. There was clearly something wrong with the way Sakti was going down after the fight was called off they should have rushed in the stretcher and taken him.

I don't think his opponent did anything illegal, he didn't hit Sakti after the fight was called off even though he attempted to as he was still in the heat of it.
Moments before the stoppage Sakti had his hands up(probably he knew something was seriously wrong and couldn't think) and since the referee hadn't intervened, his opponent was within the rules to punch. Though, in retrospect of the tragedy it seems even more wrong.

Didn't Mayweather KO Ortiz when he had his hands down and was talking to the referee. Everyone called Ortiz an idiot. I know its not the same situation but rage against his opponent is hindsight bias.
The referee should have stepped in sooner though it might not have saved the kids life.
