I think if Donaire wins...and he certainly can...it's because he might be able to draw Rigo in and "counter the counter". His kd of Harutyunyan was an example of that. But the TS does bring up a good point...while ND's defense isn't porous, he's not exactly unhittable, either. If he moves forward, he stands a good chance of getting tagged, and things might well be more interesting than anticipated when that happens.

But by and large, his main attribute in terms of D is the fact that a lot of guys are fearful of getting tagged in return and don't commit to their own offense. Best D is a good O, as it were. Rigo, on the other hand, has superior defensive skills and transitions much more smoothly from offense to defense. My only concern for Rigo is that his attack tends to revolve around the straight left and he'll have to at least show a right hook if he hopes to beat Donaire. Be interesting to see how it all plays out. I, personally, don't view this as being a lock either way. |

But Donaire does have victories over top ranked fighters... Who since Ramos (who was only ranked becuz he had a belt) has Rigo beaten? I'd love to see how he would do against Mathebula... Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing since he hasn't fought anyone that good yet
