Default Tony Tucker vs Pinklon Thomas

Both guys had short stints at the top, both possessed very good boxing skills and fast hands with good jabs. Both set their careers back with drug abuse. In their primes who takes it? Tony Tucker at the time when he fought Tyson and Douglas against Thomas at the time when he fought Witherspoon and Weaver.

Thomas's time at the top was short and he actually had a few more signature wins than Tony did... Tony may be able to eke out a decision if he could be more aggressive than normal...

The 1984 Pinklon Thomas who outpointed Witherspoon would have my vote to take a narrow decision over the Tony Tucker who beat Douglas in 1987. While Tucker stayed preserved a bit better into old age, Pinklon was a tad sharper prime for prime. He soundly out boxed a very good fighter in Witherspoon, while Tony was losing for most of the evening against Douglas, before Buster finally broke down and quit.

I'm more of a Tony guy than a Pinklon guy, but Pinklon beat better fighters prime-per-prime than Tony did.Plus, Pinklon had a stronger jab, so I take Pinklon by unanimous decsion.
