I love how the MMA haters talk about how boring the ground game is, that guys "just lay on top of each other".
As if there's no such thing as two boxers who can't stop each other sleepwalking through 5 or 6 rounds to a wide decision, clinching 20 times per round and throwing one punch at a time.

If you like a good scrap? You can find a good scrap in both sports. I can't really see how a Boxing fan can't at a minimum respect MMA. Boxing is incorporated into MMA.
Truth is, MMA is VERY young as a sport in the US. As MMA is evolving more as a sport? I think you will see more "sport strategies" to win fights and the excitement level will decrease. If Dana is as heavy handed as I believe he will be with acquisitions and "good" style determinations, the sport will move more towards human cock fighting rather than a quality combat sport. I hope MMA respects it takes all types. |
