Default Fighters With High Opponent Victory Ratios

Phew. Awful title. I'm going to edit it when I come up with a more better one.

At times I've seen fighters rated off the win/loss ratio of their opponents, for good and bad.

A critic would say, "His last 10 opponents are a combined 8-75!".

Someone on the other end of that spectrum would tally up a fighters last 10 fights as being 175-20" or something similar.

Usually this indicates a fighter being quality or not, and I've found it interesting to look at fighters to see not only the undefeated fighters they've vanquished, but also the still quality, none too "worn" fighters they've beaten, fighters with one loss or less.

So here's the catch of the thread... Tally up the ratio of a fighters opponents who have only one loss or less.

To start us off... Vitali Klitschko -

Herbie Hide 31-1
Kirk Johnson 34-1
Samuel Peter 30-1
Chris Arreola 27-0
Ed Mahone 21-0
Kevin Johnson 22-0
Tomasz Adamek 44-1
Manuel Charr 21-0
Juan Carlos Gomez 44-1
Timo Hoffman 22-0

That totals up to 296 wins and only 5 losses. Quite imprressive.

Who've you got? Can anyone beat Vit Klit?

Julio Cesar Chavez -

Mario Martinez 33-1
Manuel Hernandez 13-1
Francisco Tomas Da Cruz 27-1
Rodolfo Aguilar 20-0
Alberto de las Mercedes Cortes 44-0
Meldrick Taylor 24-0
Kyung-Duk Ahn 29-1

John Duplessis 36-1
Angel Hernandez 37-0
Frankie Mitchell 29-1
Hector Camacho 40-1
Marty Jakubowski 37-0
Andy Holligan 21-0
Giovanni Parisi 29-1

David Kamau 26-0
Ken Sigurani 22-1

467-9. I have a feeling that might be difficult to beat.

Hmm. A resume look that will favor modern fighters. I like it.

I think sometimes there is another step that is the record of your opponent's opponents (though eventually you have to stop). That way, you may not be dealing with quite as many inflated records.

Jose Luis Ramirez fought a bunch:

Ray Mancini
Juan Coggi
Edwin Rosario
Hector Camacho
Pernell Whitaker
Julio Cesar Chavez

Probably others. Maybe he wouldn't have a total ratio as high as the others, but its still an impressive group, given what those guys went on to achieve.

I think to make it fair, a 1,000 wins should be needed before you work out the ratio.

Otherwise you can just find a prospect who has fought some 'Midwest/Southern Journeymen with amazing numbers (Chunky T/Buck Smith types).

The Brothers Klitschko seem to substitute the 'Midwest/Southern Journeyman' for the European equivalent...
