I don't know about you guys in Ireland... But in Montreal, Bute, Pascal, and Stevenson are Canadian, even if they were born abroad.

Yeah Bute is Romanian. And he is also Canadian...

Some people have double nationality.

Then again, what's the topic about? How boxing is popular in our country.

According to your criterias, Lewis can't be considered a British boxer, because he grew up in Canada, and won his olympic medal for Canada?

Does not make any sense... Things are not always black and white when it comes to citizenship. Especially in a multicultural city like Montreal where most people speak 2-3 languages.

In almost every persons mind who aren't bias and British Lewis is Canadian ,I see him as Canadian but bute is Romanian ,having citizenship in a country for two years doesn't make you from that country

Messi has lived in Spain for 15 years since he was 12 but his Argentinian not spainish as he plays for Argentina just like how buts faught for romania

I'm not Cuban, but in Cuba: Baseball >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anything else

Football is a recent phenomenon, as far as I know, it's been getting popular cuz they show UEFA Champions League matches in free air tv, but I don't think is has enough fans yet, I guess boxing is bigger than football.

After Gaelic Football, Soccer, Hurling and Rugby its maybe the next biggest sport.

Irelands is really dominated by 4 big sports.
