Default HW "prospect" Aaron Green

Aaron "Gorilla" Green

ESB member Berliner recently posted about this guy in another thread. I must admit, I'm pretty impressed:

Obviously, he hasn't fought anybody of note yet, so it's hard to really judge him, but he looks pretty darned good. Green is shockingly fast for such a big guy, even his footwork. He also has very respectable fundamentals, and obviously huge power.

He's 11 - 0 (9 KO's)

He doesn't really have the "classic" build of a HW champ, but then neither did George Foreman or Sonny Liston, and those guys did ok. (g)

Sadly, Green is already 30 years old, and he's the kind of fighter that most prospects will avoid. Still, with the right management there might be time for him to make some kind of mark.

This is definitely a guy to watch, even though his chances are slim.

I got excited when I read the thread title. It's ALWAYS interesting to see some kind of excitement injected into such a dead division...

Then... like all these so-called 'prospects' you hear about... You find out they're on the wrong side of 25.

No longer interested.

Yeah, I know. It's the nature of the sport that so many great fighters never see the light of day.

But again, Green could realistically fight at a high level for another 8 years or so. A lot of good fights could happen in that time, if somehow he was given a chance.

Dude, I saw this guy taking way too fucking long to beat up some 5' 10" fat indian fresh off the rez back in Minnesota a few years ago in a real shit venue. The whole event was a fucking disgrace. God bless this dude & good luck to him, but this does not deserve a thread.

He looks good, but has to show he can look good against real competition . Does he have amateur background?
