Default If Froch beats Groves, does he deserve to fight a tomato can like Chavez Jr?

It's about time Froch got a big reward/ little risk fight after the gauntlet of tough fights he's been in. Chavez Jr is perfect, he brings money to the table and we all know The Cobra will push his shit in easily.

if Froch does decide to go for Chavez for the money, there is no way you could call him out for it. he deserves it. he's fought everyone all over the world.

an easier fight every now and again isn't too bad.

Junior will not be an easy win. Not unless you're a guy with superior footspeed, whoch Froch is not. Of course, this is assuming that Jr comes in shape and ready to fight for all 12, which is no sure thing.

So, assuming we get a motivated Jr and not the dude who showed up to fight Bryan Vera, it should be an entertaining fight with a Froch UD.

Considering the closest to soft touches Froch has taken on in over six years are Yusaf Mack and Arthur Abraham (both still highly ranked contenders when he fought them) peppered in amongst several world class elites, yeah, he deserves to get highly paid beating Julio's brains in.

Abraham was also the favorite going onto the fight with Froch and he got schooled every round.

The Super Middleweight division isnt shy of good fighters

WBO - Robert Stielglitz : 4 wins this year with 3 knockouts including a win over former middleweight/super middleweight world champion Arthur Abraham

WBA - Andre Ward / Edwin Rodriguez : Ward is the apparent top dog of the division despite only fighting once since his win over Froch. Rodriguez however has proved himself over the crop of contenders and could provide an upset

IBF - George Groves / Carl Froch : Froch has faced almost every top fighter 168 has to offer and Groves himself is in a much similar position to Rodriguez despite not having as much of a stellar resume

WBC - Sakio Bika : Tough ring veteran and now world champion, Bika is possibly the only fighter next to Froch to have faced the toughest opposition at 168 with tough fights against Ward, Calzaghe, Bute etc.

Then of course you have the likes of Degale, Oosthuzien, Abraham, Periban etc.

Well have to see if Jr can beat Brian Vera more convincingly this time and then maybe fight either Degale or Periban to earn a shot at the WBC belt.

Froch would retire Chavez in a non competitive bout!

Last impressions aren't always the lasting impressions. People get too prone to hyperbole based on the last thing they saw. Froch would win, but Junior is tough, despite his dismal showing vs Vera, and would actually be the bigger guy come fight night. Should Froch decide to mix it up, I could see Jr's body work posing some difficulty, until Froch leans on that long jab.

If you think for one second daddy would put his son up against Froch at 168, you're fukkin nuts.

Agree with that. It'll never happen. Jr is also a cash cow, and will be ridden until doesn't want it anymore, which could happen at any point. Drive seems to be a problem with that kid.

He hasnt got the hunger.

Its like Eubank said, when your given million dollar contracts straight for doing nothing . . . . what have you got to fight for?

The shame is Jr actually has a lot of natural talent and potential . . . . but because his father was an ATG and his godfather owns the WBC what exactly has driven Chavez Jr?

He often comes in overweight, rehydrating up to 180+
Skips out training sessions
Hits the bong like cheech and chong

Now look at him : Losing to Brian ****ing Vera (No disrespect to Vera, dude is a tough nut but not a top class fighter)

Jr got bottle fed to a world title and lost it when he fought the real champion. now hes moved up in weight and still cant hit the weight limit

Jr will likely fight Vera again and get some bullshit stoppage or another robbery and then go onto fight a few more lower level fighters before the WBC gets given to him again. only problem is I give all the 168 champs more than a decent chance at beating him

If Jr can pull off a convincing win over Vera this time he should target Marco Antonio Periban if he wants to prove his worth at 168 . . . . oh and actually make weight rather than pay to come in heavier again
