It is a long time , I am sure there were others had luck/politics/circumstances gone their way would of managed to do so

Yeah being a WBO champ in the very early 90s is kind of on par with being a WBU/IBO champ. His IBF carries more weight although that had only been around for about 5 years I think.

The list of British fighters who have been generally recognised as their divisions best probably won't be very long either:

Haye -
Hatton -
Calzaghe - 2 weights?
Lewis -
Naz? -
Conteh? -
Minter?
Watt?
Buchanan?

I know there are more before you all start () but its not very good for 40 years though is it?
