They'd scarcely do better since their only tangible records of success in recent years are with fighters from more promoteable ethnic backgrounds. If anything his lot would be worse than it is now as he'd likely be kept away from those more promoteable stars at all costs a la Matthysse and Gamboa (to pick two examples).

Yes, this is correct, he was good for some time before he beat bunema.
The reason he didn't step up is he couldn't get the good matches.

He kind of still fights the same, backs up and straight lines and only throws lunging straight shots, with no answer for the inside game. He just fighting bigger slower C class fighters who cant exploit this..............
