Default Matvei Korobov turns pro

He won his pro debut in the 3rd round tonight in Las Vegas, I believe. He fought under the name "Matt Korobov".

P.S. Just checked it out. Yes "Matt" did fight at 160!
Korobov was a middleweight in amateur boxing which has actually a higher weight limit than middleweight in professional boxing.
Middleweight (amateur) = 75 kg
Middlweight (pro) = 72, 6 kg
So I wouldn't worry about that.

His parents immigrated to the US in the mid 90s, and he frequently visited them so its not that surprising. Matt Korobov does sound silly though. Anybody have the video?

I knew about his parents, thought they lived in Florida. He weighed 165 apparently last night, is scheduled to fight again on 12/13.

It was the very first fight on the undercard of the Donaire fight, I doubt it got filmed. It was the same for Danny Jacobs' first few fights (who, ironically, got RSCO'd by Korobov in the amateurs).

Future world champion here.

I wanted Artayev to turn pro as well, that would be great to watch.

It was definitely televised, I'm trying to get it, may take a while though.

Do Calzaghe or Pavlik look like they have the "frame/physical stature" for what they have achieved? What should Miranda have done if success is based on "frame/physical stature"? Artayev is elite, no shame in losing to him, although it was a disappointment as Korobov was a very strong gold medal favourite. He probably won't be fighting anyone near that level in the next two years.

It got filmed. Just found it!

It's on a BitTorrent site, so I'm not linking to it here. I'll download it and upload it myself... If you want it, just send me a PM.
