Bernard Taylor vs Eusebio Pedroza, like Lora mentioned.Even though I think Taylor did enough to beat Pedroza, he didn't fight like it really, just did a little here and there, and it was especially disappointing considering he was in his own hometown.They should've mobbed and shot him.

Muhammad Ali versus Alfredo Evangilista.

It has to be the absolute worst, and on National Televsion.

At the Press Conference, Alfredo made Ali look pathetic, when he told

The Champion was performing like some struggling comic, in a back room
lounge at a second-rate Casino in Las Vegas.

Yes, could be the worse championship fight ever.

I don't understand how Ali gets a free pass on so many of these outings.

Sure, he did great things in some famed fights, but he pushed the concepts of "milking the title" and "going through the motions" to unpalatable levels.

He was out of shape and clowning around against an opponent who had absolutely no business contesting the heavyweight championship . Howard Cosell call it right for a change when he described the first round as "vaudeville".

The very fact that "Ali was sick" proves what a mockery of the heavyweight championship was taking place. A sick man can go into a heavyweight title fight, clown around and waltz for 15 rounds, and come out victorious ?
That's a horrible state of affairs.

Does Ali get a free pass because he was sick ?
Well, sure, if it's true, we can say he deserves sympathy and the authorities in boxing game that allowed him to carry on were to blame for that.
But we shouldn't overlook the fact that Ali's reign featured TOO MANY similar performances. I'd even say that the reason he ended up damaged was because of these terrible 'vaudeville' style performances in the ring, and in public sparring sessions.
An untrained, talented but aging champion 'having fun' letting young third-raters punch him at will and mugging his way to victory.
Whatever way we slice it, it is bad.

It's one of the worst performances in a title fight ever.

Loreto Garza vs. Edwin Rosario. Most people thought Garza would outclass Rosario, and Edwin caught him early and Garza never recovered.

I really don't know how to rate Douglas as the disparity between his best and worst was enormous,and it gives plenty of ammo to the Tyson fanboys who think Tokyo was just a fluke.

I think especially because of his enormous potential to be one of the if not the best HW ever that it made the performance extra poor.

I'm shocked that nobody mentioned Chad Dawson in his fight vs Pascal

the guy was talented and had beaten some legends and this fight was probably 50/50 or 60/40 in his favor

and Chad never showed up, he didnt let his hands go and let Pascal do his thing

in the moments when Chad did throw he stunned Pascal and not just in the 11th, he had him hurt earlier and never ever took control

one of the single worst showings i have ever seen by a guy who is talented and not in over his head

It was so comical, it was embarrassing.

It made people think that maybe the George Foreman - Muhammad Ali fight was a 'Fake'.

Here was a 'professional boxer, who during his 'prime years' went 4-7-0.

The Champion was boo'd throughout, especially in Round 6.

Chuck Wepner floored Muhammad Ali with a legitimate right hand body
punch in Round 9, as the Champion's legs went out.

At the end of the bout, Muhammad Ali laid out on the canvas, stating
the he was tired and exhausted. 'A Class Act'.

Afterwards, the Champion showing 'class', criticized Referee Tony Perez
for permitting the out-classed Challenger to foul.

'I will never get in the ring again, with him as the Referee'.
