There is such a thing as a chin that is too good. A chin too strong results in you taking needless damage. At times for the purpose of winning a fight, you'd be better off going down to recover, rather than take more punishment when you are dazed on your feet.
On this basis Joe Calzaghe has the best chin in boxing - It is perfectly balanced between solidness and weakness. He can take very big shots, but still goes down at advantagous times, which allows him to recover. Last edited by China_hand_Joe; 08-10-2007 at 11:19 AM. |

This has come up numerous times and the answer is still Wayne McCullough. Been in with some of the biggest hitters in his division and eaten flush bombs without ever going down.
