It was in Thailand, and he was defending his WBC 112 title for the 3rd time, IIRC. He couldnt make weight. His lowest weight was 113, after jogging and sweating it out for a few hours, I believe. They stripped him of his title. If he wins the fight, the title is vacant. If his opponent (Singsurat of Thailand) wins the fight, he's the new WBC champ. Not 100% sure about this, but I even think he wore bigger gloves in that fight as penalty for being over the weight limit. He was in poor condition that fight. Starting round 1, when he was getting hit to the midsection, it looked like he was getting stabbed by a knife or something. Not saying that Hatton doesnt hit harder than a flyweight and his body punches would have no effect, Just saying the facts behind that Pacquiao loss. Here's the fight, btw. |

Hattons power is getting underrated here, when he loads up he hits like a mule.
See Maussa KO and Castillo bodyshot. His handspeed isnt bad either if he has remembered how to use combinations again which he hasnt in some time. |

Hatton isn't that big a puncher in terms of single shots, unless he really loads up.... but you can spot it a mile off - he only tends to use them when the opponent has his chin wide open (Maussa KO). Watch the 10th of the Paulie fight - he was loading them up clearly but with his opponent grabbing his legs constantly found it hard to land them.
His is more of a cumulative puncher - if he lands enough blows accurately he will stop opponents regularly. His output is also very high for a guy who jabs as little as he does. Pac being a southpaw will negate his left to the body to a degree, but in his last fight he was using his right hand as much as his left, for the first time since the Collazo fight...... |

those left hooks were about as vicious as the ones he threw to the body against Mayweather for about 20secs
agree Hatton doesnt have great one punch KO Power. Pacman will be more active than anyone Hatton faced...Pacquaio by UD |

Pac was really weak in that fight. His aggressiveness was gone. His punches have no effect on Singsurat. After the fight Pac worked on toughening up his abs. He was never hurt again by a shot to the body in his succeeding fights.

Both of those poll options are fucking dumb.
Pacquiao won't want to be getting hit. If he's getting hit he's not where he wants to be in the fight. It would probably mean he's too close. Regardless, of course he can't withstand too many punches. Hatton is not a featherfist. |

Somewhere in between those two options. Hatton's not a one punch KO kinda guy, but it could happen, as Pacquiao hasn't been properly tested above super-feather weight yet. Either way, if Hatton lands a good shot Pacquiao will know about it.

Hatton's gonna get destroyed.....he doesn't hit as hard as some of you choose to beleive, majority of his stoppages come from breaking opponents down with accumulation to the body, he doesn't have KO power, never did, and still doesn't
so to answer the question.....yes |
