poor research from the article writer to not realise that cook v mitchell will likely not happen due to their friendship outside of the ring. been mentioned by both quite a few times.

I thought the same.

I have to say, of those fights mentioned, only Brook v Lomax, Cook v Mitchell and Murray v Khan interest me.

Fights I'd like to see (just British) would be;

Kell Brook v Matthew Hatton (after Lomax)
Cleverley v Courtney Fry (this is going to be Fry's year I tell thee!)
Martin Murray v Darren McDermott
Paul McCloskey v David Barnes
John Watson v Willie Limond (Willie - any chance?)
Rendall Munroe v Matthew Marsh

Obviously Lindsay v Appleby is already on too.

Bradley Pryce must have some "momentum", given he can't even pick up a visa. Wow.

The rest is not too bad, except Brook would murder Lomax. He's poor, really.

McCloskey-Barnes...excellent.

That would be a true fight for the purist with these two silky southpaws. I had Barnes beating Lynes before it was cancelled and McCloskey owned his ass in the ring.

Me neither, I just blindly picked Lynes assuming he was another face first Irishman

Couldn't have been more wrong, I was most impressed.

To be fair.....

Only a fool would have bet against Lynes, bearing in mind his excellent form from late-07 onwards.... he made Branco look silly at times yet lost a split decision.

Munroe vs Marsh would be good - better than the questionable opponents that both guys had last time out.

I am glad the board saw fit to veto Lloyd as an opponent to Kell Brook, taking into account his recent loss to Bami and also to Amar, who isn't up to much either.

Would be good to see Pryce fight Moore - if only to end the SN hype train. Stoppage losses to Olusegun and Bami would suggest that he isn't up to the task, allied to his clearly bad attitude.

I fancy Moore to win the EBU against an old Piccirillo. I suppose a Pryce fight could happen, but if I was Moore I'd be looking for better opposition this year. LMW is empty at the top level (with the very notable exception of Williams) so any of the Brits could land a title shot if they have a decent run this year.

If Jennings can land a fight with Cotto then surely Moore/Rhodes could land Forrest/Santos or Dzinziruk?

I would take Moore to win the EBU title as well. I agree with you about Pryce - beating him wouldn't do any harm, but would waste time, and he has been treading water now for the past 15/18 months.

154 isn't the strongest division as you say - winning the EBU will most likely get him a top-10 WBC ranking. If he has a valid passport I see little reason why he cannot land a shot.

I think we all know why Jennings has got the Cotto fight

I dunno, if I was in any position to actually pick that fight I would have surely known McCloskey would at the least give him trouble. Colin Lynes has never faired well when his opponent offers something different. And he's the biggest frontrunner in British Boxing, by a marathon distance.

Sloppy work from me, it taught me to research things like I used to. I was getting too complacent, like English cricketer Ian Bell. End of.

It isn't Ian Bell's fault that he isn't tall enough to put his head on the chopping block.

Now - if you think Lynes is a frontrunner, Bell whips anyone in that department. Yet to score a century in an innings where no other England batsmen have got one as well.....

Paints a pretty clear picture to me.
