Default Paul Briggs Tribute- The Warrior

Haven't heard much from him lately, as things have been quite coming up to the Garay fight. Regardless of whether he wins or loses however, the mans fights against Adamek were dead set extraordinary. I think every fighter waits for these type of fights their whole career. Inspirational stuff, especially when you take into account the amount of drugs that had gone through his body. Coke and amphetamines seriously damage the body. Coke on the heart and the heavy amount of speed he was on for years would have made his internal organs cactus. To turn his life around, and fight for a world title in one of the toughest sports in the world is truely brilliant. His book was hands down the best book I have ever read. If you haven't had a chance, go grab yourself a copy as soon as possible. Definitely buy it, because you will want to read it more then once.

To those who saw both Adamek fights, how did you score the second fight. I actually thought Briggsy got a bit hard done by considering the KD's for Adamek. I think from memory I had a narrow decision for Briggs. Instead he became another great Aussie fighter to narrowly miss out on getting that elusive world title.

His book is a top read, and the guy himself is a warrior, and I'd like to see him win a WT more than anyone else.

Apparently his last fight was very sloppy, and many who saw it said that he looked awful. Hopefully he was just getting some ring rust out of the way, and come his next fight he can deliver his best again.

i dont think its a matter of his ticker he just need the inner mongrel again. in his younger days he really wanted to hurt his opponent.

I really don't know how you could question the bloke's heart. He's been in more wars than the English. Perhaps you meant focus or something. From what I've heard, he went into that fight against the Saffa injured. I didn't see the fight, but heard he got hurt in sparring.

My other whisper is that Paul wont be fighting Garay. Huge is negotiating directly with Drew's people.

yeah sorry let me just clarify that - i didnt mean his heart i meant that he doesnt seem as interested in boxing as he used to; un motivated and dis interested

but that may well have just been the one fight - im a big fan of him and his life story is one of the best

I think Adamak did enough to win both, so many good punch combos, and his foot movement is perfect.

I was surprised he lost his title until i saw Dawson, he will be very hard to beat. And i think Dawson would smash Tarver if the fight is made.

Also, on boxrec, pretty sure that they've change his fight from the Vargas v Mayorga undercard to a Heavyweight title undercard. It's a Madison Square Garden now...he'll be up for it, no doubt.

Dawson is a guy i would never want Paul Briggs or Danny Green to face.
They both would be absolutely annihilated.

Too slick for both, although i think that Paul would represent the hardest fight for Dawson in the lack luster light heavy division.
